Christylez Bacon (pronounced Chris-styles) is a GRAMMY®-nominated Progressive Hip-Hop artist and multi-instrumentalist from Southeast Washington, D.C.
In this exclusive Digimonde Master Class session, Christylez breaks boundaries between tradition and innovation. Moving fluidly between the West African djembe, acoustic guitar, and human beatbox, he explores rhythm as a universal language — connecting jazz, hip-hop, and the oral storytelling traditions of his community.
Captured live in an intimate setting, this masterclass blends performance, conversation, and improvisation. Christylez shares his creative process, his approach to cross-genre collaboration, and his belief that rhythm is a tool for empathy and cultural exchange.
You’ll discover how a single voice and drum can carry the power of an entire orchestra — and how hip-hop, stripped back to its roots, becomes a bridge between generations.
